Data integrity: This is an original J&K-focused dashboard informed by the World Bank CCKP structure. Charts are generated from Open-Meteo / ERA5 reanalysis and HighResMIP climate model data for selected coordinates — not World Bank J&K area-aggregated statistics or reproduced CCKP charts. 02 / WHERE THE DATA REPRESENTS

Explore the region
through location.

Each point is a settlement reference. Select one to update the data charts; values describe the nearest model grid cell and should not be interpreted as a district-wide climate surface.

What the evidence
can — and cannot — say.

Data provenance, geographic precision, model uncertainty and limitations are disclosed so this can be used responsibly in academic and policy discussions.

HISTORICAL · ERA5

Reanalysis is not a station record.

The historical explorer uses daily gridded ERA5 obtained through Open-Meteo. Annual temperature is the mean of daily 2 m temperatures; rainfall is the sum of daily precipitation. Baseline anomalies are computed from the selected period when 1991–2020 observations are present, otherwise against the available year-specific monthly climatology.

FUTURE · HIGHRESMIP

Models are conditional simulations.

Future results are for a single selected HighResMIP model, downscaled to a point by Open-Meteo. The API covers 1950–2049; it cannot supply World Bank SSP trajectories to 2100. Period deltas are model-to-model-period comparisons, not changes between observed and model data.

REGIONAL SCALE

Points are not district means.

The present dashboard focuses on locations in Jammu & Kashmir UT and deliberately excludes Ladakh. It does not provide polygon-weighted regional averages, catchment climate statistics or district maps. The World Bank's published ADM1 aggregations and administrative vintages require separate verification before use as J&K statistics.
